What is this discharge in my panties? I have a smelly discharge on my panties. It smelly really strong, so I am wearing pantyliner. It sometimes hurts when I pee, not lately though (not for the last couple of days). The discharge is just smelly and looks brownish. What is this? Help!
Thankz |
Once you start puberty a white and/or clear, non-foul smelling discharge (mucous) is normal. The vagina is self-cleaning. You will also have your own 'scent' (musky) and it will smell stronger to you than to others. This same discharge increases the closer you get to ovulation and when you are sexually aroused. Trust me, you don't ever want it to go away.
Different Types of Discharge:
White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.
Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.
Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.
Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.
Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.
Different types of infections:
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
Signs of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
An unpleasant odor
Pain and itching when urinating
Most apparent after your period
See your doctor if you are concerned. |
Soaked panties, and slightly smelly vagina..? I do take showers. Every night.
I do clean down there.
I always have to check my panties, because I'm not for sure if it's just my discharge, or period.
My panties do smell horrible after the day is over. The.. odor isn't strong enough for others to smell it. But it still really bothers me!
I'm not sexually active.
Still a virgin.
I'm not embarressed at all to tell my mom to go buy me something, or consult a doctor for it.
Nothing embarrassing about trying to fix your body.
My discharge is normal. White/clear. Like I said, just way more discharge then there should be. |
| actually thats normal |
Why do my panties always get dirty? I shower and wash my crotch. I wipe after using the toilet, but my panties always get wet, smelly, and stained. I have to wear a pantyliner at all times. Is there something wrong with me? |
Have you tried wiping with a wet wipe? Those remove more than dry tissue. Just don't try to flush more than one at a time and only ones marked flushable. Because it will stop the toilet up.
Is it discharge or mess from using the bathroom?
Alright, discharge can be a lot to hardly any. You can go to the gyno to see if you can be put on something to lessen it. |
39 wks pregnant' liquid making my panties wetter than usual and very smelly. discharge or waterbag leakage? im 39 weeks pregnant. today i woke up with my panties wetter than usualm, went to the bathroom and it was a grea amount of white liquid that smelled horrible. ive had tochange my panties 3 times. can this just be an increase in m discharge or can it be something else? also im in the process of moving far away from where the hospital is ill be giving birth in...so if my water bag is leaking i know ill give labor within 24 hrs and it will be perfect timing... should i tell my dr to induce me already since im moving and i have no idea how i would get over here if she doesnt come after tonight??
ps; my cramps have been coming more often now and more painful but no massive regular contractons. |
| Your in labor, please go to the hospital |
What is this clear, smelly, nasty, gooey stuff? It occurs 1 week before my period and lasts until I get my period. It's a problem because it has a strong smelly odor I cannot stand. I can smell it through my clothes and it is very embarrassing. When I wipe, it all just slides so it's pretty messy. And it gets all over my panties and I'm not too happy about that. I usually fold up some toilet paper like pad but I don't like using pads.
But can I know: What it is? How to get rid of the smell? How can I take care of it? --Thanks. (: |
its discharge. but its not suppose to smell. usually when dischage smells theres a medical condition of some sort so you ought to see a dr about it. you could get some panty-liners (they're like mini pads) to use instead of toilet paper (it'll be more comfortable) also, i think you get scented ones.
Good Luck!! |
Why is there white and yellow stuff in my panties? Im 10.I have been geting white stuff in my panties. then I turned yellowish. It is so gross and goey.I get cramps with it too.it doesnt hurt my vigina but its so gross. Its a little smelly. My mom said exactly this It is a girl thing and it just happens.why is that stuff in my undies? |
| it's called vaginal discharge, and it also means you'll get your period soon so ask your mom for pads and wear them everyday to school it'll keep you dry and make you feel grown-up! |
Why is my discharge clear and a thin consistency, but very smelly? I haven't started my period yet, and I am not sexually active. Yesterday and this morning when I've changed my clothes my discharge is clear, thin, and smells really strong. It pretty much soaks my panties. Why is this happening? |
Two things will make you wet "down there"... both are normal and healthy, they both have a scent, and they're *supposed* to happen.
(It's caused by the same body changes that will eventually bring your periods on, but there's nothing about the timing of both that's the same for everyone: some girls begin discharging like that several years before they ever have a period, and some don't begin until a couple of years *after* their first period happens.)
1) Your genitals keep themselves clean and healthy by sort of "rinsing" themselves with the fluids that they make (this will happen constantly beginning in early puberty, 24/7 every day for the rest of your life, but you won't always notice it)... sometimes there's quite a bit of fluid and it can leak out a *lot*, so wearing panty liners or even light pads can be a good thing to help keep your clothes clean.
2) When your body is aroused sexually ("turned on" or "horny", even if you're not doing or thinking anything sexual) your genitals will get wetter and slipperier... sometimes very, *very* wet... so that a penis can slide in there comfortably if you have sex like it's telling you it wants (you don't have to, of course).
I'm a cook, so the only things I can really compare the healthy scent of a vagina/vulva to are foods and such... and the nearest I can think of is a fairly mild combination of fresh oysters and grated truffles (the savory mushrooms, not the sweet chocolates) - musky and usually more on the sea-like side, but not "fishy" and certainly not unpleasant.
It often smells stronger when you're sexually aroused or when you're sweaty after exercise or have spent most of a day in tight pants or clinging underwear, but not always... and it tastes much like it smells, but it's a little bit salty and less sweet than the scent suggests. (Don't be afraid to taste: it can give you info that your eyes and nose - even your *doctor* - can't provide you with, in addition to the fact that it's probable your boyfriend(s) and/or husband(s) are gonna do that anyhow if they have any brains... and it's sure not gonna hurt *them*.)
If this "discharge" is clear or slightly milky (might be tinted faintly yellow or brown), slippery to maybe a little sticky or stretchy, and smells "earthy, animal and a little like the ocean", it's almost certainly healthy and good. If it smells truly fishy or otherwise bad, especially if it's "cottage cheesy", itchy or feels irritated, then it's probably an infection and you should see a doc. |
How can you ever wear nice sexy panties(thongs) for your guy if you always have vaginal discharge? How do you get rid of normal vaginal discharge? (not smelly, itchy, yeast infection discharge) |
| Some vaginal discharge is normal for women and should not be a problem when wearing 'sexy panties' because these things are only really meant to be worn for short periods of time *nudgenudgewinkwink*. If you have abnormal amounts of vaginal discharge to where it may be a problem you may want to see a doctor. Just because it isn't smelly or itchy doesn't mean there can't be a problem. |
15 weeks pregnant & having smelly liquid like discharge on panty.? I am having very smelly liquid on my panty everytime. Is not sticky & I am sure is not urine. Is just plain smelly liquid on my panty. It makes my panty wet all the time.
I can even smell it when I am with my pants on while standing & sitiing. Anyone out there facing same situation?????
Thanks & God Bless!!!!!! |
i had the same when i was 16 weeks pregnant. my ob told me that we all have it in our vagina. its a living bacteria ( normally we have 50% good bacteria and 50% bad bacteria. and the bad is needed as much as the good. there just have to be a balance ) and during pregnancy due to acid the bad bacteria replaces the good bacteria. he told me you can either not do anything about it ( this is bacause he checked and was 100% its not an infection ) or you can use ( he ordered a tablet, which you put into your vagina and it replaces good bacteria ) or you can put yoghurt outside your vagina, and that's what i did and beleive me, it does the job. but here i am talking about my case and what happens normally during pregnancy and what my ob was happy with, that i treat it. so, none of what i mentioned , you should use before being checked and have a medical advise.
but i think its nothing to worry. also i always used a panty liner and used to change it frequent so i feel clean and honestly i know how you feel. just had a shower and your panty is wet.
well, congratulations and its all worthed at the end. at the moment i am breast feeding my little boy. he is 4 months and beleive me enjoy your pregnant time cause it goes so fast. but soon you will have a baby. maybe its not your first pregnancy and you know exactly what i mean.
all the best may God help you |
